The Inspiration Behind My Fine Art Portraits
A fine art portrait is one of a kind. It is in its own class, with its own style: a unique and exquisite piece of art that tells the special story of you, your family, or your beloved pet. I originally called these pieces my Creative Art Signature portraits, and here is the story behind them.
It Begins With Your Story
Every fine art portrait starts with a photograph of you, your family, or your pet. The real inspiration comes from our conversation. I ask a series of questions to learn about your personality, your pet's character, and the story you want to tell. Those details shape an extraordinary vision, and I transform it all into a piece of art you will cherish forever.
Why a Signature Piece
I think of each piece as a signature for several reasons. It goes beyond the original photograph with imagination. It is a distinctive way to tell your genuine, heartfelt story. It brings new ideas and artistic methods to photography. And above all, it touches the heart with its beauty.
The Creative Process
Concept: it can take a few days, sometimes a week, to develop the idea and concept for your piece.
Refinement: I revisit and refine the artwork several times over the following weeks until it feels complete.
Finishing: your piece is printed on canvas, velvet, or metal. On canvas, I often add hand-painted art gel and embellishments for texture and depth.
Together, we create an authentic, one-of-a-kind wall art piece for your home, whether a single statement piece, a grouping, or a series.
Where My Inspiration Comes From
It is you and what you bring to the session that turns photography into art. My own creative art is a small reflection of who I am and where I come from. Like most people, my family means everything to me, and my inspiration was inherited from my grandparents. My grandmother was a seamstress, and my grandfather was a photographer. I have woven those two gifts together, and that is what brings my fine art portraits to life: transforming photography into art with a beautiful story.
